    It’ s true that over the past decades, English had become a global language owing to globalization and international trading. Thus, most people have realized the importance of English learning, and at the same time, the issue of English education reform has not only come into educators’ vision, but also gained the general public’ s attention.
    There are some reasons accounting for English education reform. First, English teaching in modern society pays more attention to grammar explanation and difficult sentences analysis, but neglects the real function of English—communication. Second, although students have learned English for many years, they are used to reciting the words and grammar rules to prepare for all kinds of exams, which causes the fact that they are lack of innovation and self-learning ability. In addition, the English courses set in schools are inadequate. Students just learn the basic knowledge of English, and they have no chance to practice their practical skills.
    In my view, English education reform depends on the joint effort of schools and students. Educators should pay more attention to courses setting, and students should spend their time in practicing speaking and writing. With the collaboration, the reform of English education will have better prospects.
