    As the chart shows, in 2012, there are nearly one hundred million rural people in poverty, which accounts for approximately 10% of rural population. However, the following several years have witnessed the continual decrease in this figure, and in 2020, all the Chinese rural people have got rid of poverty. It can be seen that China has made tremendous achievements in poverty alleviation.
    It is beyond all doubt that the achievements are attributed to China’s rapid economic development in these years, as without economic growth, people’s poverty situation cannot be alleviated. And more importantly, the poor have enjoyed the great benefit of the economic growth due to the strong support from our government, active promotion of industrialization and urbanization. Many rural people are attracted to urban areas, so that they can benefit more from the economic growth. In addition, our country has attached great importance to infrastructure establishment in poor areas, such as roads, communication, and electricity facilities, which effectively narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.
    To conclude, having witnessed the remarkable achievements in poverty alleviation, we have every reason to believe that our people will lead a richer and better life, and our great country will become more thriving and prosperous.
