    As an ancient saying goes, "To become a general, we should first adjust our state of mind, and never turn a hair even Mount Tai collapses in front of us. " As can be manifested from this proverb, our ancestors have made keeping calm top priority. We have every reason to believe that it’s important to keep our heads when things fall apart. First of all, a calm and stable mood helps us to look on both sides of the shield. This provides a prerequisite for putting things in perspective. Besides, calmness is conducive to the harmonious interpersonal relationship, as there’s a slim chance of ructions if we can restrain ourselves to head off a quarrel.
    To improve our calming techniques, we should bear the following methods in mind. To begin with, try to meditate or do some deep-breathing exercises, which will grant us an extension of time to figure out what has happened and find out a rational solution. Moreover, when the situation gets out of hand, it’s advisable to divert our attention from what has upset us so as to avoid overreaction.
    In a word, however tense situation we face, it’s a wise move to keep a calm state of mind. Otherwise, we will probably go the wrong way because of panic.
