    It is of vital significance for the public to acquire knowledge of traditional Chinese culture. For one thing, traditional Chinese culture is the essence of Chinese civilization of more than 5 000 years. Thus, by learning it people can enlarge their scope of knowledge, enrich their experience and adapt themselves to the complicated society. For another, the rehabilitation of traditional Chinese culture can contribute greatly to a harmonious society.
    To summarize, it is highly recommended that all Chinese people—young and old—should inherit the merits of traditional Chinese culture. In the first place, we are well-advised to read classical books or attend lectures on this issue. In the second place, we have the obligation to encourage others to learn it.
