It is the largest military defense project in the world and is listed as one of the seven ancient architectural wonders of the world. Parts of the Great Wall were first built during the Warring States Period. The walls constructed in that time have a history of 2,700 years. The walls built in the Ming Dynasty have a history of more than 600 years. The current Great Wall section in Beijing was built in the Ming Dynasty. Having seen hundreds years of hardships and witnessed the changes of dynasties, the Great Wall is still standing upright in China.
