     (1)The rapid development of the Internet and e-commerce has facilitated the opening of online bookstores.(2)Therefore, there is a debate over whether such virtual bookstores will take the place of traditional ones.
    Admittedly, purchasing books online is much more convenient and efficient.(3)However, the rise of online bookstores does not necessarily cause the doom of traditional ones, since they have some irreplaceable merits.(4)On the one hand, there are always people who are just attracted to the pleasure of standing in front of stacks of books and flipping through books they like.(5)On the other hand, the amenities provided by traditional bookstores can never be replaced by virtual ones. An afternoon spent peacefully with the pleasant smell of books and coffee in a street corner bookstore is an experience a booklover will forever cherish. Going to a bookstore, for some, has therefore nothing to do with efficiency and convenience: it is in itself a pleasure.
     (6)In conclusion, however developed the online bookstore is, traditional bookstores have good reasons to exist They are complementary to each other, each catering to the needs of different people.(7)Store owners, however, have to adjust themselves and provide better services to survive the onslaught from online bookstores.
