On Judging People by Their Appearances
The above picture depicts a situation that a selection is in process. Some people are sitting in the auditorium and listening to the speech given by the candidate. One of the voters is thinking: "His tie is too blue. I’m going to vote for the other guy. "
This phenomenon can easily be found anywhere in our daily life. Nowadays, with more interviewers putting emphasis on the appearances of the applicants, a great majority of people believe that nothing is more important than the appearance. But I beg to differ. Because the clothes do not reflect what is inside the human. And what is in his mind and his heart can’t be known by us easily. Furthermore, it is extremely superficial to judge someone by appearances and that’s what prevent us from getting to know a person’s nature.
As an old saying goes, "never judge a book by its cover". One’s appearance may reflect one’s interest, but it isn’t the symbol of one’s quality. We should never judge people merely by their appearances.
