Hi, Jim. This is Jane. You missed a wonderful movie last night. Too bad you had to study for that history test. Anyway, I really wish you had been able to go with us. It was one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. Oh, I don’t mean beautiful because of the scenery. As a matter of fact, the land where they made the film wasn’t beautiful at all. The beautiful thing was the way the actors played their parts. You know me. I am not usually easily moved, but a couple of times I almost cried. Once when the farmer in the film was standing in the middle of his wheat field. There had been hardly any rain for a good harvest. A dust storm destroyed his whole crop. The actor acted the part so simply that the whole story came to life. I don’t think he ever said a word. He just stood there looking over the field and then down at his empty hands. Well, I won’t go on and on about it. Promise me you’ll see it soon!
