The old man studied the stranger quietly but he didn’t answer. The stranger said to him self, "This old man is deaf. I will ask him again." Then he repeated more loudly. The old man thought for a while, but he still did not answer.
By this time, this stranger got very angry and shouted at him, "I say how long it will take me to the next village." But the old man did not still give him any answer. The stranger turned away and began to walk quickly to the village.
After watching him for a minute or two, the old man called after him. "My friend, it will take you only fifteen minutes." The stranger turned around and said, "Well, why didn’t you tell me that before?" "How could I? Because I didn’t know how fast you could walk."
