On the Clouds has an unoriginal plot about a businessman who works so hard that he forgets about the important things in life. Hiroshi, played by Takashi, rarely talks to his family and never takes a holiday. He commutes to and from work for five days before finding a note from his family that says they have gone to Los Angeles. Hiroshi books the next flight to Los Angeles and reunites with his wife and children. They fly back to Japan and live happily ever after.
