W: I heard that Steven is going to be managing our Shanghai branch next year. That seems strange, as he just transferred here to the Seattle branch only a year ago.
M: That’s right. It came up during the executive meeting the other day. Steven hasn’t been with us long, but he worked for an international shipping company in Beijing for several years. More importantly, he was born in Hong Kong and speaks fluent Chinese, so we thought he’d be a good fit there.
W: That makes sense. I wasn’t aware that he speaks the language. It sounds like he’ll be the perfect person to handle the supply chain from our factory there to our distributors in the US.
