    When it comes to the topic of knowledge and ability, there are various viewpoints among people. Some people hold the idea that a knowledgeable person tends to become successful in our society, while others think that it is useless to own a lot of knowledge but without practical ability, therefore in their opinion ability is more important. As far as I’m concerned, both knowledge and ability are significant to our development, and we should combine knowledge with ability but not to separate them.
    In the first place, in our daily life we often see such a kind of people who own much theoretical knowledge. However, when a small task is assigned to them, they fail to fulfill it or do it badly. Similarly, some students who has just graduated from university have to confront with difficulty of looking for jobs, for the companies they apply for are not sure whether they have got ability to be competent for the job. Those who can prove their ability will win the position more easily. So it is not enough to only possess knowledge.
    In the second place, it is limited for a person’s development without solid basis of knowledge. The stories of former entrepreneurs are good examples. With their preeminent ability and courage, they founded many enterprises that played significant roles in national economy. But a serious problem they have to consider is that the knowledge they, possess was not sufficient to manage a developing enterprise, hence they went to university to enrich their knowledge of different aspects and employed talents with professional knowledge. So I can say knowledge is the springs of ability, it ensures our ability not to dry up.
    In conclusion, it is undoubted, that knowledge is as important as ability. We should continue to assimilate knowledge while improving our ability in practice. Only in this way can we become real talents.
