答案                     On Noise Pollution
    A very harmful pollution is noise pollution, which not only affects the hearing of human beings but also leads to high blood pressure, heart disease, poor memory, less concentration and other spiritual syndromes. Noise pollution takes place either outdoors or indoors. Outdoor noise pollution stems mainly from aviation, highway and railway transportation, construction and industrial production.  Indoor noise pollution is from electric fans, air--conditioners, computers, radios, television sets and other electrical appliances.
    Wuhan municipal government attaches great importance to the control of noise pollution. For example, in every district, no vehicle on any highway is permitted to honk while being driven. Building workers are not allowed to do their construction work after nine o’clock in the evening so that citizens can have a sound sleep.
    As to how to stop noise pollution, I should like to take the following suggestions. Governments at all levels should formulate and perfect surveying standards related to noise pollution, encourage research on the effect of noise pollution on our environment and health conditions, strengthen propaganda concerning noise pollution, let the whole society not belittle the harmfulness of noise pollution and reduce its effect on human beings’ health conditions, and award prizes to individuals and organizations that have done well in keeping noise pollution under effective control.
