    With the general standard of living improving and the working week becoming shorter, more people are able to take a vacation to popular tourist sites. As to the mode of travel, some people prefer package tours, while others like to travel on their own.     We can see from the table that compared with traveling alone, package tours can save a lot of money and bring much convenience. The expense of a tour is usually lower due to a considerable discount. Board and lodging is also provided. Furthermore, with the help of guides, tourists can learn more about the places they visit.
    But traveling on one’s own also has its own attraction. It gives tourists a great sense of independence and freedom. They can adjust their plans according to their interest and their physical condition. Time is sufficient and they can really relax.
    However, both modes of travel have their weaknesses. In a package tour you’re deprived of as much freedom as in a military base, while if traveling individually, you may encounter a lot of inconveniences.
    I prefer to travel on my own. 1 think nothing can be compared with the freedom which is vital to a person who takes a vacation trip to escape from the constraints of his routine life.
