The Game’s Olympic Games scale requires the organizing committee to recruit many volunteers to work on different positions in various areas. Volunteers contributed tremendously to success of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
    As we know, the volunteering spirit means contribution. Those volunteers who silently but diligently contributed should be given the same respect as we gave to the athletes who fight in the sports arena. Thousands of trained volunteers demonstrated a giving spirit through their services, and more and more people learned about and understood the volunteering spirit. Their efforts provided selfless contributions to people and touched every heart they contact. And in the process, a giving spirit is spread.
    Volunteers are also cultural ambassadors. They learned about foreign cultures while serving the athletes and visitors, and helped them know about good traditions and customs in China, so more foreign friends would come to know China and fell in love with China, which promoted friendly communications, facilitated mutual understandings, and deepened friendship between people all around the world.
