    Nowadays a hot topic that is whether there should be two focuses—humanity focus and science focus—available in our high school education is discussed from time to time. Two kinds of voices can be heard; one is humanity and science should be combined, the other is they should be separated.
    The following reasons would account for why we are supposed to combine humanity and science. On the one hand, it is essential for us to learn humanity-focused knowledge if we’d like to have a thorough understanding of the background of history, geography and the whole society. And what’s more, humanity-focused knowledge would further promote the spread of science rather than come into conflict with it, because our vision is able to become more extensive through humanity-focused learning. On the other hand, human development can not be separated from science-oriented disciplines. Because of it, human society has experienced an unprecedented development and electricity, net, mobile-phone and other advanced devices become a part of our daily life.
    Although the benefit from the combination of humanity and science can be seen clearly, different voices come from the majority of parents and students. They hold the idea that different people have different circumstances, such as various advantages, so they ought to make full use of limited time and energy to do what they are good at.
    As for me, I’m eager to acquire as much knowledge as possible including science and humanity so that I will enjoy a solid foundation for my further study.
