"High Hopes" is my favourite song sung by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd band. This band is famous for its progressive and psychedelic music and high-quality lyrics. This song falls under the progressive rock music genre and is the 11th song on the band’s album Division Bell.
I usually listen to this song on my computer and sometimes in my MP3 player. I usually turn the music on when I’m on the road or at a metro station. Sometimes, when I’m at leisure, I sit on my balcony, brew myself a pot of coffee and enjoy the song.
I’m indeed a great fan of this music band and most of their songs are on my favourite list. This song is particularly attractive to me for its composition, lyrics and theme. This song brings back the memories of the past. Every time I listen to it, I trace back to my childhood, the greener town I used to live in and the brighter sky I used to see. The song is right for me when I feel nostalgic about my past Also, the church bell in the song and the lyrics make an illusion that I’m travelling in an exotic land. So I do get a kick out of it.
Yet, charming as the song might be, it sometimes puts me in a mood. It’s sad to think that the past glory and innocent days won’t be back. But all in all, this song gives me genuine pleasure of the memories of my childhood and all the friends I knew then.
