   The Pascal University Board has decided to put more emphasis on online reference materials rather than investing in additional books and other resources. While the library will retain its existing collection of books and resources, extra funding will be allocated towards purchasing computers and upgrading our online library system. We feel that online resources are where the future of education lies, so this is a forward-thinking decision. We hope that students will agree that this is the best use of resources.
W: What’s this?The university is going to be investing mainly in online
  resources, not books or other materials?
M: It makes sense when you think about it. The library is already so
  full of books and journals, there’s barely any space for new ones. I
  heard that the only other option they had was to build a new library
  to accommodate all the materials. Think how expensive that would
  have been !
W: Wow, I didn’t realize it was that urgent. I guess it’s better to save the
  money on a brand new building and develop a new online library
  system then.
M: Exactly.
W: it sounds a bit complicated, though. [Student]s are used to
  researching in the library, so the new online system might be
  confusing.
M: I don’t think so. I actually think it will be much easier and more
  convenient. Once the system is running better, we’ll be able to do our
  research from home, or from the college computer lab, or even on
  our laptops. Compared with having to go to the library and find the
  books on the shelves, that’s much simpler.
