    As for Sino-US trade, mutually beneficial and win-win trade and economic ties have delivered tangible economic benefits to both countries. Now, with more than 40,000 US-invested enterprises, the paid-in value of total US investment in China now stands at $43 billion. Of the top 500 US companies, more than 400 are in China, and most are making profits. At the same time, in American market, many Chinese commodities have become favored choices of US consumers. The number of Chinese-invested enterprises in the United States has surpassed 700.

    Nowadays, with information technology as its representative, new and high technology is developing with each passing day. Information technology and information industry are vigorously promoting (the progress of) economic globalization, which has brought forth new economic patterns, expedited some new industries and accelerated the world adjustment of industry and product patterns, thus having immeasurable effect on global social and economic activities. At present, the information industry in China is developing quickly. Yet, we need to be fully aware that the most obvious weakness in the competition in market, especially in international market is our lack of technology and products with our own intellectual property rights.
