Iraqi police and Shiite militiamen have clashed in the southern holy city of Najaf but U.S. troops stayed out of the fighting because of a truce with the militia 2 weeks ago. Local officials say 6 people were killed in the clash including one policeman. Meanwhile, Iraqi Prime Minister lyad Allawi condemned the attacks over the last 7 months on oil pipelines, which he said have cost the country more than 200 million dollars.
