Two Libyans charged with blowing up a US airliner over the Scottish town of Lockbie have made their first public court appearance. At Tuesday’ s pre-trial hearing lawyers for the men argued that the charge of conspiracy should be thrown out because the conspiring was not committed in Scotland. The lawyers also asked that the start of the trial be delayed. The hearing was held at a Dutch military base that is now legally a Scottish prison guarded by armed Scottish police. The trial is set to begin there in February.
