   As is vividly described in the drawing, some parents are attending a teacher-parent meeting. Their seats are arranged according to their children’s ranks in the final examination. All the parents sitting or standing at the back of the classroom droop their heads because of embarrassment.
   It goes without saying that the picture satirizes the phenomenon that teachers arrange students’ seats according to their examination scores. The starting point of doing so is to encourage low-achievement students to work hard and urge their parents to help their children, but this will lead to unexpected consequences. First, arranging students’ seats according to their examination scores will surely enable high-achievement students to enjoy more advantageous learning resources. This will directly impact upon students’ learning and inevitably lead to serious polarization among students. Besides, those so-called "bad students" will be asked to sit at the back of the classroom, regardless of their eyesight and height. This will not only weaken students’ learning motives but also harm their self-esteem. When they are far away from teacher, it is more difficult for them to control themselves and concentrate their attention on learning.
   In conclusion, seating arrangement in reference to academic ranks will hurt not only students but also their parents. Only when teachers take the well-being of students as the starting point can parents avoid such an awkward situation.
