    Hedy Lamarr, who was born in Vienna, Austria in 1913, was a famous Hollywood star and communications expert. In 1929, she went to acting school in Berlin. When she was 20, she acted in the European art film Extase, which brought her fame. One year later, she married the first of her six husbands, Fritz Mandl. The marriage lasted only four years. Then she went to Paris, London and the US. In 1938, she made her first film, Algiers, in America and became a Hollywood star. People regarded her as the most beautiful women in the world. In 1940, she met a composer, George Antheil and they developed a radio communications system for submarines two years later. At the age of 53, Hedy Lamarr wrote a book about her life, Extase and Me. She died at the age of 87 in Florida, US.
