    The importance of innovation has been widely recognized by entrepreneurs and nations as a whole, because it helps differentiate an outstanding company from mediocre ones and contributes to the well-being of economy. It is fair to say that innovation is the key to the sustained success of a company and a nation.
    Despite the benefits of innovation, many companies and people are not ready to embrace innovation. Instead, they rely on copying and imitating others’ products to run their business. That is also why counterfeits and shoddy commodities are standing in the way of the real products.
    As far as I am concerned, it is imperative that government strengthen the law-enforcement to deter the illegal practices of making counterfeits. Besides, favorable policies, such as tax reduction, should be enacted to encourage business owners to create new products and new concepts. With the stick and the carrot as dual actions, I am sure that companies and countries will thrive and the prosperity will be ever-lasting.
