    I’m Li Ming, a freshman in our university. I write to you, hoping to apply for the Government Student Loan to pay for my tuition fee and cost of living. I’m from a needy family in a poverty-stricken area. My father is a peasant, and my mother has fallen seriously ill. Besides, I’ve one brother and one sister who are still at school. As a result, it’s very difficult for my parents to support me and the expenses of my higher education are a heavy burden for my family. Therefore, I apply for a loan of 10,000 yuan to finance me through the higher education. If my application is granted, all the money will go to my tuition fees.
    I’ve confidence in myself to refund the loan. In the coming years in the university, I’ll find a part-time job to earn some money to support myself. Moreover, as all of my friends and teachers know that I’m an honest boy, I’ll keep my promise to repay the loan in time.
