    Ignorance of public hygiene will lead to the spreading of diseases. It’s well known that the infecting of some epidemic diseases such as flu, SARS, smallpox, etc. is closely related with the condition of public health. Consequently, if we are not well aware of the importance of individual hygiene habits or environmental hygiene conditions we will nurture favorable conditions for the spreading of such diseases.
    However, it’s a pity to see we are still faced with so many bad habits in public. When we walk around, we often see a passer-by spits casually or sniffs loudly with the mouth widely open. Dirty water pours down the streets and rubbish spots everywhere. It’s not a complete list but is enough t9 detect the seriousness of the problem. Such habits are threatening the public health.
    Therefore, methods have to be taken to iron out these habits. It’s often regarded as the most effective one to punish the person who has spoiled the public health conditions. But I think education is the essential way to deal with the bad habits. It’s through education that we can tell people at large what are good habits and how to develop them. In this way, people can fully realize the danger of bad habits and then will consciously avoid them.
