I’m not much a fan of outdoor games or sports, rather, indoor games attract me greatly. I was fond of a game called hide-and-seek and I used to play it every day when I was little.
Most of the time, I played the game in my house. It was a large two-storied building and there were many places to hide, such as the study, the garden or the kitchen. It was really hard for the seeker to seek out all the players.
My cousins and siblings used to join in the game. In fact, we had a moderately large group to play the game. There were 12 or 13 participants, although I can’t exactly remember the right number. But I do remember some adults also took part. With their participation, the game always got more captivating because they often hid in places beyond our imagination. The seeker used to find us under the beds, or behind the curtains. But it was challenging to discover special places like the bathroom or the inside of a wardrobe.
I enjoyed the game for many reasons. It was the only recreation for me and my cousins at that time. In fact, when we were little, our parents didn’t allow us to play outside for the sake of our safety. So we started playing this game. The evening is always the perfect timing for our little game because the dim light can put our seeker at a disadvantage. It’s more challenging that way. When our seeker failed to track down everyone, we all laughed at his or her misery, especially when he or she had to serve twice or three times in a single term. Anyway, we all enjoyed the game immensely.
