Childhood stories are bewitching and magical to hear especially when you were a child, because children always believe everything they’ve heard. My grandmother used to tell me bedtime stories, one of which was the tale of a prince rescuing his princess from a mighty giant.
The prince, a kind-hearted man, was married to the princess whom he fell in love with at first sight. They were beloved by their countrymen for a long time. One day, the prince was out on an errand. A giant ghost appeared and intended to kidnap a small kid. The princess tried to force the giant to leave but irritated him instead. The giant madly took the princess away. The prince returned to the country only to learn that his wife was kidnapped by a giant. Driven by anger and endless fearlessness, he swore to hunt the giant down. He started a long and arduous journey to find the giant and rescue his princess. The journey was full of much surprising and amazing adventures that I enjoyed so much as a child.
This is one of my very favourite stories. For one thing, I like the magical elements of this story, such as the ghost and the depiction of things belong to the old days such as the kingdom, the prince and the princess. For another, I like the excitement and twists of this story, especially the fights between the prince and the ghost. The story was written by a famous fable writer in my country almost 200 years ago. People read this story and pass on to their children. Over time, the story becomes one of the tales known to all. As a kid, or even to these days, I still enjoy the story so much.
