答案     It is widely acknowledged that the amount of violence in films and TV programs is one of the direct causes that lead to the high crime rate in our society. The voice demanding that the government control violent scenes in the media has been much louder than ever before. Personally, I totally agree with this voice, for it is one of the most effective ways to reduce violent crimes in this world.
    First and foremost, violence in films or TV programs is often portrayed as vividly as possible in order to attract audiences. This will definitely set a bad example for those immature audiences, who, lacking correct parental guidance, are most likely to copy the violent behavior and commit real violent crimes.
    Next, the media, such as TV or film, are considered as the correct information sources regulated by the government. It should report and reflect a true picture of the society. Violence, as one of the facts in the real world, certainly has to be reported. However, excessive exposure to violence by the audience is offering misleading information to them, which will exert detrimental influence on society, especially on the young. For example, teenagers will regard those killers and murderers in films and TV programs as heroes and follow their examples. It has been reported recently in the news that a seventeen-year-old killed all his family members, one sister and two parents out of hatred and jealousy. In the real world, we are often reminded of the harm and hurt that violence in the fictional world has brought to us.
    In a word, our society is now preoccupied by violent scenes and plots. What the government has to do immediately is to take effective measures to control the amount of violence in the media. Only in this way can our society enjoy a high level of security and peace.
