It is reported that most Chinese workers are satisfied with their job in general and feel that the amount of work they are expected to do is reasonable, while a majority are dissatisfied with matters most immediate to them, such as compensation and benefits. What factors do you think contribute to job satisfaction and how realistic could they be? Write an essay of about 400 words.
In the first part of your essay you should state clearly your main argument, and in the second part you should support your argument with appropriate details. In the last part you should bring what you have written to a natural conclusion or make a summary.
You should supply an appropriate title for your essay.
Marks will be awarded for content, organization , language and appropriateness. Failure to follow the above instructions may result in a loss of marks.

Job Satisfaction—Room for Improvement
Are you satisfied with your job? It might sound like a cliche question to most of us, yet we hardly deny the fact that satisfaction we earn from our jobs constitutes a great part of self-fulfillment.
Nowadays many adults have full-time jobs and the proportion of their lives spent doing such jobs is very high. So feelings about one’s job must reflect how an individual feels about his or her life as a whole, and because of this, job satisfaction is indeed very important for the physical as well as mental well being of that person.
Employees get job satisfaction in a number of ways. Firstly, a person needs to feel that they are doing valued and valuable work, so sharing with employees the treasured vision of an organization is the first and foremost. In most cases, a vision can visualize the value of a job and hence a promising and proved vision of an organization serves as the most convincing eloquence that motivates employees continuously. A sense of fulfillment is also encouraged if a worker feels the job is worth doing because it contributes to the society or the economy as a whole. Of course a positive feedback from superiors is also very important in this respect. It also strengthens employees’ belief in the shared vision. Secondly, when someone feels they are improving or developing their skills through training opportunities, for example, then there is a sense of progression and purpose that rewards a worker. Thirdly, the sense of belonging to a team or a working community also contributes to job satisfaction because colleagues help each other to enjoy their working lives. Satisfaction is also increased by improving the sense of responsibility for and loyalty to a team or an organization.
Of course not everyone enjoys their work. Hard economic realities mean that many people have little choice in the kind of job they can get. In some cases* an employee is working in a job that suits neither their skills nor their personality. Some jobs are repetitive and boring, and labor relations may be poor and lead to resentment and insecurity rather than to job satisfaction.
However, even though it is likely that all workers do feel happy in their work, I think it is not unrealistic to promote more job satisfaction in any job, as there’s always room for improvement. If the factors identified above are implemented, then any job can be improved and more workers can obtain greater degrees of job satisfaction.
