  Recently, the rapid development in science and technology has aroused popular attention. New technology makes engineers obsolete. Likewise, new methods of management can make executives obsolete. In such a case, how can one rise to the highest and stay there? This depends on how one copes with the knowledge explosion.
  To cope with the knowledge explosion, first and foremost, we must take a fresh look at the term—knowledge. Many years ago, Francis Bacon, a great philosopher, remarked that" Knowledge is power". In our social setting, this can be translated into contemporary terms," Knowledge is change"—accelerating knowledge-acquisition, fueling the great engine of technology, and accelerating social change and development. To realize this point, we know the key to deal with knowledge explosion is to constantly renew our knowledge. The renewed of knowledge demands that we never stop growing and learning.
  Therefore, to handle the knowledge explosion, in fact, is to keep one growing and learning. To learn with success, we must establish at least four principles in our study: diligence, devotion, constancy and punctuality. In learning, the work of a diligent fool doubles that of a lazy wit. Devotion means to set our heart on one thing at a time, never think of learning another subject. Those who often change their studies will never succeed in the long run. As the saying goes," Constant dropping wears away a stone". Constancy makes success a certainty. If we study day after day there is nothing which cannot be achieved. Besides these, the habit of keeping a regular time is of extreme importance to successful learning. To sum up, every man will certainly become successful in learning if he follows these principles.
  Compared with successful learning, another equally important aspect to handle the knowledge explosion is to apply the learnt knowledge to our practice and keep us growing with development of society. As a matter of fact, the men and women who rise to the highest and stay there never stop growing and learning. These flexible fellows seldom stall on the corporate ladder or get shaken off.
  From what has been discussed above, we may reasonably come to the conclusion that the proverb "It is never too old to learn" is true of everyone. Let us start and keep learning to catch up with social development in the age of knowledge explosion.
