    With the increasing concerns about climate change and environmental degradation, people are calling for a green life to protect our planet. Green means environment friendly, and a green living style is promising and crucial for both mankind and the Earth. As a college student, we can do a lot to form an eco-friendly life style.
    Individually, we can apply the three R principles, namely "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" in our daily life. Firstly, we should reduce energy waste and the use of eco-unfriendly products, such as detergents, plastic bags and one-off products. Besides, it is advisable for us to reuse our products as much as possible. For instance, if we forget to bring our own shopping bags and have to purchase one plastic bag in the supermarket, we should reuse this plastic bag in the future shopping visits, instead of throwing it out directly. Thirdly, we should follow government’s advice to sort trash for recycle. Items like cans, bottles and cardboard should not be tossed out and end up in a landfill. Recycling these things could actually turn the valueless trash into valuable treasure and help to protect our environment. I believe that the three R principles can contribute a lot to reach the eco-friendly destination.
    In addition to individual efforts to make our life greener, we could also join some organizations and communities to promote the idea of an eco-friendly life style. More often than not, lectures about the green ideas and practices are organized by NGO (Non-Governmental Organization). By joining it, we can help to organize such lectures and invite our friends, peers and schoolmates to share our experiences and thoughts of a greener life, convincing people to adapt to a more eco-friendly life. We can also stage some small-scale activities in student communities. On campus, we can stage different environmentally themed weeks, such as recycling batteries week, saving energy week, ozone knowledge week and so on. The combined endeavors of each individual will assure us a phenomenal success in environmental protection. As the saying goes, "Many hands make light work."
    To conclude, it is high time that we led a greener life in order to save our environment from deteriorating. And only by the joint efforts of individuals and organizations can we make it possible to form an eco-friendly life style.
