It’s a way that lightning bugs communicate with each other. They use their blinking signals to attract each other.(13)The female lightning bugs have brighter and stronger light, because they are the ones who are trying to attract males to them.(12)And different species of lightning bugs have different patterns of flashing light to attract their own species.
