    A large number of students devote their time and energy to getting various certificates because they believe those certificates will make it easier for them to get employed after graduation. From my point of view, college students are supposed to be versatile and by possessing different certificates university students can present their all-round abilities to their future employers.
    In the first place, students with more certificates will get more opportunities than their peers in their future career. They are more likely to acquire different kinds of knowledge when preparing for those certificates. For example, students majoring in English can improve their math ability through learning courses for an accountant’s certificate and those who study literature can also develop their thinking ability by gaining some knowledge of science. Thus they can have more options in their future career.
    In the second place, it is necessary for college students to get more certificates in the fiercely competitive society. Many companies are more likely to recruit new employees with various skills and experience. Certificates, therefore, have become the proof of a person’s all-round capabilities and potential, especially for the newly graduated. With those certificates, they can gain an advantage over their peers when facing an employer.
    In conclusion, having various certificates is beneficial to students’ future life and career. Therefore, it is recommended for students to make full use of their part time to develop hobbies and get some related certificates so long as the certificates meet their needs and interests.
