    Self-confidence is an attitude which allows individuals to have positive yet realistic views on themselves and their situations. It is extremely important in almost every aspect of our life. Write a composition of about 200 words on the following topic:
    My View on Self-confidence

    My Mend Lucy scored 8 in the IELTS test but she did not apply for any job in foreign enterprises. When asked why, she said, "My English is not good enough. " Her answer showed a lack of self-confidence, a good quality that college students should cultivate.
    First of all, self-confidence is a state of mind that enables us to think positively about ourselves. Some students, like Lucy, beat themselves up, because they think they are not perfect. They underrate themselves and live in shadows cast by themselves. If we are confident in ourselves, we would notice our own talents and have a realistic and positive view about ourselves. Secondly, self-confidence enables us to weather through difficult times. For instance, a job interview in a foreign enterprise might be a challenge. Unlike Lucy, my friend Mike, who only scored 6 in the IELTS test, failed in a few job interviews. But he believed that he will get a chance one day. With his self-confidence and sound preparation, he finally secured a job in a foreign enterprise. That is how self-confidence made a difference.
    In conclusion, we could be Lucy, lack of confidence and pitying herself or we could be Mike, sure of himself and willing to stretch for a goal. Personally, I would choose to be Mike, because self-confidence can bring hope.
