    It can easily be seen from the picture that, when asked by her father about her school life, the little girl asks him to read her blog instead of having a face-to-face chat. There is no denying the fact that the Internet has affected interpersonal communicatipn a lot.
    On the one hand, the Internet has provided people with a convenient tool of communication. With the Internet, communication beyond distance can be achieved. For example, a mother can easily contact her daughter studying abroad, and a student can get the instant guidance from a professor in a distant city. On the other hand, the negative impact of the Internet on personal communication should not be ignored. Some people are so absorbed in online communications that they tend to lose interest in face-to-face talk, which is pretty important for establishing or maintaining a sense of personal connection. Even worse is the fact that some may fail to grasp the skills needed in real-life interpersonal communications.
    In conclusion, the Internet is a double-edged sword. I think we should take full advantage of the new communication method while guarding against its negative impact on our real life.
