    With the reformation and development of higher education, many universities have adopted the credit system instead of the traditional academic-year system, and changed teacher-centred teaching to student-centred teaching. As a result, teachers are now managed on the basis of students’ evaluation, which has aroused disputes.
    Many people agree that students’ opinions and evaluations of teachers are crucial to both the teaching process and the teacher-student relationship. For one thing, the teacher may reflect on his teaching, and then change accordingly. For another, mutual understanding is likely to be enhanced. However, many experts worry that some students’ judgements of their teachers are rather subjective, even strongly biased. To make things worse, some students take it as a game—"Anyway, my ideas do not count." If so, nobody will benefit from the valueless feedback.
    As far as I’m concerned, students’ views should be taken into account, but not as a decisive factor in evaluation of a teacher. We used to relate the evaluation to the employment of a teacher, but if we take advantage of the evaluation as a guide, things will be much better.
