    It is commonly heard that "Appearances are often deceiving." on which I would like to make my own comments as below.
    Undoubtedly, appearances can be deceptive. Even though it is easier to believe something visible or tangible, outward and obvious appearances should always be carefully analyzed and identified before making a conclusion. From this point of view, the remark is correct as it reminds us of the deceptiveness of what things look like and tells us not to judge a book by its cover.
    However, appearances can be trustworthy. We should never negate or ignore the importance of appearances in guiding us to learn about new things. After all, human beings are sensitive animals. Much of our knowledge is relied on sight, so what things or people look like can be really meaningful to us. We should make better use of them, combined with further analysis, so as to reach a truly valid conclusion.
