Dear Mr. Smith,
     It’s winter in Shanghai again, and time to think about Christmas. I’m writing as an organizer of the Christmas party, to be held by Chinese Literature Department, to ask if you would be willing to join us in the party.
     Christmas party is one of the biggest festivals in our Department, which features traditional Christmas decorations, traditional Chinese desserts and a lot of activities such as singing and dancing performances, games, and riddles. All the programs are performed by the teachers and students of our Department. We wonder whether you, as our favorite foreign teacher, could prepare a singing performance for our party.
     The party will begin at 6 pm in the Conference Hall this Sunday and last about 3 hours. I do hope that you will be able to accept this invitation. Your attendance will make our party into an unforgettable one.
     I look forward to meeting you at the party and watching your singing performance on the stage.
