    With more and more high buildings erected, cities in China become modern and beautiful, especially the big ones, such as Beijing and Shanghai. However, if you get a chance to visit the rural area, you will find a totally dif ferent view. With people’s life very hard, the gap between urban and rural areas are becoming bigger and bigger.
    There are two major reasons for this phenomenon. On the one hand, industrialization and commercialization attracts investment and population coming into cities rather than in rural areas. On the other hand, government has not done enough to promote and stimulate the economy in rural areas.
    So, in order to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, I think, government should attach great importance to agriculture and encourage investments in rural areas to develop the economy there. For example, the investment environment and the infrastructure constructions should be improved.
