    With China becoming increasingly prosperous by the day, large-scale events such as world expositions and sports games frequent this hot land, virtually all of which are thirsty for a large number of volunteers.
    Apart from gaining some working and social experiences, the realistic advantages to serving as a volunteer are also obvious. Volunteers for the World Expo in Shanghai, for instance, may visit any pavilion after work, which makes them the envy of billions of queuers; likewise, volunteers of Beijing Olympics got allowances, quality uniforms, free riding of bus and metro, etc. More beneficially, their experience may add luster to their resume in job-hunting. But as the saying goes, "A penny has two sides. " The disadvantages to being volunteers are also elephants in the room. Doing voluntary jobs is undoubtedly time-consuming, and to those students, the majority of volunteers, the sacrifice is not only time but their school work. Besides, longtime exposure to various unexpected weather may do great harm to their health.
