    Quite a few college students are found to rely much on their teachers in learning, as they did in middle school. Consequently, when encountering problems, they are at a loss for solutions.
    In an era full of challenges and uncertainties, college students are bound to equip themselves to learn independently, because the ability of learning serves as a solid basis for everything. Therefore, how to be an independent learner is the primary lesson for every college student.
    To become independent learners, in my mind, students should first form a habit of digesting knowledge instead of swallowing it. Meanwhile, there is something teachers can do. For instance, teachers are advised to involve their students more in discussion, class presentation and paper production, which will definitely prompt students’ initiative. Thus, college students are directed toward independent learning.
