    As we can see from the table, great changes had taken place in the percentage of the use of office supplies from 1992 to 2012. In 1992, the percentage of the use of computer in the office was only 3%. However, it surged to 45% in 2012. In contrast, the percentage of the use of paper documents dropped sharply. There is no great change in the percentage of the use of fax and photocopier and other facilities.
    Why are there so many changes in the percentage of the use of office supplies? The primary reason lies in the wide application of the computer in recent years. The computer is beginning to replace the phone to a great extent due to its lower cost and additional video function in communication. Meanwhile, the computer has multiple functions that paper documents do not have. The computer’s advantage in speed in particular has greatly enhanced the working efficiency in the office.
    From my point of view, changes in the percentage of the use of office supplies also reflect the change of society. Being a landmark of social development, the application of the computer has made our work and life much more easier.
