M: Hi, this is Paul from England. First question is: Do you give money to charity?
W: Well, Paul, it’s a difficult question, but I always question myself if the money really gets to where it’s supposed to go,(9)so personally I rarely do give money to charities. What about you?
M: Yeah, I guess that makes sense. If it’s a registered charity then I don’t see there’s really a problem with giving a donation.
W: Yeah, I guess so, but I really wonder. There are so many charities in the world, and you wonder really how much money the people actually get, so it’s difficult to really know.
M: How about if you’re walking down the street and you see a homeless person asking for money?
W: Homeless people! That’s difficult to make the decision because you can’t see they need money or food.(10)But if it’s a disabled person, I am more willing to give, rather than just the homeless.
M: Yeah, I’d agree with you. Usually I never give money to men but if it’s like an elderly woman, I’m happy to give a small donation.
W: Why not men and only women?
M: Well, going back to what you said about supporting their way of life, I mean, not in every case,(ll)but I think that often it can just be man’s choice to be homeless on the street and he does have a chance to get a job I think.
9. What is the woman’s opinion on donating money to charities?
10. What does the woman do when she encounters a disabled person?
11. Why does the man like to give money to women rather than men?
选项
A、Women may have the chance to have jobs.
B、Men actually have the chance to be employed.
C、Men may lead their lives in poor conditions.
D、Women need to look after their children.
答案
B
