答案                      Should Gifts be Banned on Teachers’ Day?
    Teachers’ Day is a good opportunity to express our gratitude to the hard work of respected teachers, but is sending gifts to teachers the only way to show our gratitude? I should say no to gifts!
    Above all, gifts are good and attractive and seemingly they can make a deep impression on our teachers, however, this certainly will not be very helpful to our study and teachers’ teaching because teachers’ contribution to our learning absolutely does not depend on offering them gifts but on their gifts of language teaching and their morality of dedication. Besides, traditionally we didn’t express our gratitude to our teachers only by sending gifts, so it should not be promoted to send gifts to teachers. In this modem would given the present situation in China where anti-corruption campaign becomes increasingly severe, the prohibition of gifts for teachers might be another seemingly good measure to set a good example to struggle against corruption in other fields in addition to education.
    Everyone should have gratitude, and everyone should receive gratitude. The problem is how to express our gratitude to our beloved teachers. One way in my mind can be to make a phone call to them telling them how they have been helpful to our study because gratitude needs to be expressed verbally other than sending gifts. Such simple but sincere behavior, I think, can leave a ever deeper impression on our teachers.
