W: Oh, nothing’s wrong. I just felt like some company. The days seem so long sometimes when you get to our age. I haven’t many friends left near- by and I don’t understand half of the things on television these days--it’s all fancy, foreign cooking and silly game shows.
M: I know what you mean. In fact I was glad you rang. Since Mary died, I have been with my grandchildren most of the time.
W: You must enjoy yourself with the kids.
M: Oh yes, and they’re very good to me. Bill comes over to see me almost every weekend but, of course, he and Susan are both busy working during the week. Well, I think you can come over to have fun with the kids if you like. They are always talking about you since your last visit,
W: Thank you for your invitation, Shin. Also, I think I can help you a bit if you need any help.
M: Oh, Joan, that would be very kind of you.
W: No thanks at all. Besides, the kids can. help me to kill the time.      
M: Well, when we are getting on in years, having fun with kids makes us feel young again.
