Can Technology Solve the Problems that It Has Created?
Thanks to the fast development of modern science and technology, we now enjoy lots of conveniences. However, it is undeniable that we are also suffering from many problems, such as air pollution and nuclear radiation. From my perspective, even though technology has advanced progressively, few efforts could be done to find a solution to the problem it has produced.
The most obvious and significant factor contributing to the point is that technology has been creating new and serious problems than ever. For instance, the invention of nuclear power, though generating for us plenty of electricity, has failed to prove its safety to our environment and humans. Moreover, those terrible leakages of nuclear power plants have shown that radiation from those chemical substances could not die out in years. To make things worse, scientists have not been able to figure out any feasible measure to eliminate this dreadful menace. It seems that technology could do nothing about it. More new problems along with the improvement of technology are another important factor. Despite the fact that technology has created new products and services and thus brought us convenience and benefits, it has at the same time turned out that new problems, like rare diseases, degraded environments, destroyed atmosphere or even disasters, lie in the current services of technological products.
In conclusion, modern science and technology should be held accountable for those problems. It is still a slim hope to rely on technology to find better solutions.
