What did people in Egypt search for years? [br]
For years people searched in Egypt for the tombs of the pharaohs. One in particular, belonging to the eighteen-year-old Tutankhanmun, lay undiscovered for centuries. So the world was greatly excited when in November 1922 an archaeologist called Howard Carter stumbled on the vast underground tomb of the young king. To his delight, Carter found chambers artistically decorated and stacked with princess gold objects and ornaments. In the heart of tomb was the coffin containing the body of Tutankhanmun, and covering the king was a lifesize mask magnificently worked in gold. These rich and glittering treasures had lain undisturbed for 3,000 years.
