American Flag
    The American flag is composed of thirteen parallel red stripes that alternate with white ones. A blue-colored rectangle in the upper left quarter of the flag / contains fifty white five-pointed stars. / The stars stand for the fifty states of the United States, / while the thirteen stripes celebrate the thirteen colonies that rebelled against the British. / The flag is popularly accepted as a symbol of the establishment of the US Government / and the rights promised to the American citizens through the Bill of Rights.
