Its history can be traced back to more than 2, 000 years ago. Legend has it that, the first Chinese kites were made of wood by the famous architect and carpenter Lu Ban during the Spring and Autumn Period(770—476BC): after the invention of paper, kites began to be made of this new material. People nowadays make colourful kites in the shapes of animals, birds, butter-flies, fishes, etc.
